Deluxe Edition Items

The Adventures of HILLS Deluxe Edition bundles the base game with a digital artbook, bonus gallery scenes, and cosmetic extras that do not alter combat balance. Deluxe items live in a separate collection menu and persist across saves and New Game Plus. This page explains what the bundle adds, how to access each extra on PC, and how deluxe content differs from in-game All Items loot.

What the Deluxe Bundle Includes

Per Release Deluxe Edition storefront notes, the bundle contains:

 • Base game (Steam app 2859100)
 • Digital artbook (PDF and in-game viewer)
 • Bonus gallery — 28 illustrations and 6 short comic panels
 • Cosmetic extras — title screen variant, UI frame "Gadola Gilded," desk photo for Hills' room

No exclusive weapons or stat gear are included — deluxe is collection and presentation, not power.

Accessing Deluxe Content In-Game

From the main menu, select ExtrasDeluxe. Submenus: Artbook, Gallery, Cosmetics. Steam verifies ownership on first launch; offline mode requires one online check according to Date & Price FAQ.

Cosmetics apply globally once toggled — safe for achievement runs. Gallery entries unlock immediately; some have spoiler tags until chapter milestones to protect new players.

Artbook Overview

The artbook spans 96 pages: character sheets for Hills, Micoco, and all seven companions; district mood boards for Gadola Overview; rough combat UI iterations; and developer notes on time-management pacing. PDF download appears in Steam library → DLC → Artbook.

In-game viewer supports zoom and chapter bookmarks but not printing — use PDF for offline reading.

Gallery Items

Gallery cards are encyclopedia entries under Collectibles tab:

 • Character Portraits (14) — Alternate outfits and expressions.
 • Scene Illustrations (14) — Key story moments including Micoco reunion and festival night.
 • Comic Panels (6) — Gray Postman side story conclusion not in base scenes.

Viewing all gallery items unlocks achievement "Collector of Gadola" listed in All Achievements. Base game players without deluxe cannot earn this achievement.

Cosmetic Extras

 • Title Screen — Hills & Micoco Dawn — Static illustration replaces default video intro.
 • UI Frame Gadola Gilded — Gold border on menus; no readability issues per Settings contrast tests.
 • Desk Photo — Hills' room shows prequel callback photo; links to Micoco Connection lore.

Cosmetics do not appear in screenshots used for thumbnail Steam uploads unless enabled.

Deluxe vs In-Game Items

Players sometimes confuse deluxe gallery cards with in-game CG unlocks from affinity scenes. Affinity CGs are earned through companion routes and count toward different achievements. Deluxe illustrations are standalone art — not replacements for missable in-game CGs.

Similarly, deluxe desk photo is not a key item and cannot be placed in inventory.

Upgrade Path

Owners of the base game can upgrade to deluxe via Steam complete pack purchase — saves detect new DLC automatically. No re-download of campaign required. If Extras menu missing, verify DLC install and restart client.

Artbook Chapter Breakdown

The 96-page artbook follows production order rather than story order — useful for artists, still helpful for fans tracking spoiler tiers.

 • Pages 1–12: Gadola city silhouettes, market mood, slums lighting studies — safe for all players.
 • Pages 13–28: Hills and Micoco turnarounds, expression sheets, early outfit drafts.
 • Pages 29–44: Companion lineup including Renna through Vessa; costume notes for noble and slum variants.
 • Pages 45–58: Combat UI evolution, intent icon iterations, AP bar experiments.
 • Pages 59–72: Boss silhouette concepts (Wharf Enforcer through Archive Warden) — mid spoiler.
 • Pages 73–88: Finale storyboards and Triad phase thumbnails — heavy spoiler.
 • Pages 89–96: Developer commentary on time-management pacing and link to Micoco Connection prequel notes.

PDF bookmarks mirror these ranges. In-game viewer locks pages 59+ until chapter three progress unless you confirm spoiler override twice.

Gallery Completion Route

Deluxe gallery achievement requires viewing every card once. Fastest route: main menu Extras after any save load — no AP cost. Spoiler-locked cards still count after unlock; you cannot view locked cards early without confirmation.

Comic panels six through six tie to Gray Postman optional chain — base players see panel one as tease only; deluxe shows full sequence. Desk photo cosmetic references panel four imagery in Hills' room when enabled.

Cosmetic bundle does not include soundtrack — audio settings remain base OST listed under Settings. Future DLC music packs, if announced, will not retroactively enter this deluxe SKU per storefront FAQ on Release Deluxe Edition.

Value Assessment for Different Players

Lore fans: Artbook commentary and comic panels justify purchase — especially Micoco prequel connections.

Mechanics-focused players: No gameplay advantage; skip unless achievement hunting.

100% completionists: One achievement and collectible tab slice require deluxe — plan upgrade before starting NG+ if you care about platform completion metrics.

Screenshot artists: UI frame and title screen variants are the only in-run visual changes; useful for content creation, not combat clarity.

Steam Library File Locations

Artbook PDF installs to Steam steamapps/common DLC folder; in-game gallery stays in save-linked userdata. Back up saves before testing cosmetic toggles on achievement runs — cosmetics are safe, but gallery spoiler unlocks write to profile flags you may want pristine on first blind playthrough.

Deluxe vs Standard Achievement Split

Base game: 25 achievements per All Achievements. Deluxe adds one gallery achievement. Platinum-style hunters need both SKUs or upgrade before finishing collection. Standard gameplay achievements remain earnable after upgrading — only gallery-locked entries require viewing post-upgrade.

Refund and Regional SKU Notes

Steam family sharing rules may hide deluxe Extras menu on child accounts — primary owner must install DLC. Regional pricing differs; deluxe content is identical across regions per Date & Price.
